An industry talent development, inclusion, and educational initiative designed to enhance career development.

Academy Gold is a talent development and inclusion program that provides students and emerging professionals from underrepresented communities with networking opportunities, educational workshops, and career pathways in the film industry. The program connects young talent with established industry leaders and offers hands-on experience through its various initiatives.

Program Opportunities

  • Gold Rising: An eight-week summer internship and mentorship program that provides networking opportunities, career development, and exposure to key facets of the film industry.
  • Gold Fellowship: Supports emerging filmmakers from underrepresented communities with a one-year fellowship that includes a $35,000 grant, mentorship, and educational resources.
  • Student Academy Awards: Recognizes and encourages excellence in student filmmaking with awards across multiple categories and global regions.
  • Academy Nicholl Fellowships: Annual screenwriting competition that awards up to five $35,000 fellowships to emerging writers worldwide.
  • Gold Production Track: Offers production assistant training and job placement in various areas of filmmaking.

Eligibility Requirements

  • College juniors, seniors, graduate students, or recent graduates (within 1-2 years)
  • Demonstrated interest in pursuing careers in the entertainment industry
  • Availability to participate in all program activities during the specified program period
  • Specific criteria vary by program component (internship, fellowship, etc.)
